Today I would like to discuss the last few weeks of my life. I have been doing quite a bit of traveling which means I have not been near my own kitchen. Which is usually not so horrible, except for the fact that in the last few weeks, it has been extremely difficult to maintain my own routine. My own routine consists of many, many, many fruits and vegetables. Those fruits and vegetables come in a variety of types and colors. I want you to think about what I am about to say the next time your physician or someone simply tells you to include more fruits and vegetables into your day.
The last few weeks, I can tell you, I certainly have not had as much energy and, quite frankly, am not feeling myself. One of the worst issues, I must say, is how my skin looks. My skin, hair and nails are definitely not themselves. Now, that’s not so scary to me since I know the cause and I also know the solution. I have been home now for a full day and I can tell you, I have consumed as much, as far as fruits and vegetables, as I possibly can.
I often pick one fruit or one vegetable to talk about. I often pick one single spice or one single item to talk about. Due to my experience in the last couple weeks, I wanted all of you to consider fruits and vegetables in a generic way and just realize that yes, it does matter what types of vegetables – some are more nutritious than others and of course, the same goes for fruit. Here’s the thing, however. Just eat them. Eat all of them. Think about your day and think about how many different fruits and vegetables you have included and please make sure that you consider the same question for your children. Today, I am paying the price for not being able to eat as many fruits and vegetables as my body is accustomed to, but I am quite fortunate in a sense that I know how to make myself feel better quickly. Therefore, please consider, for a moment, what happens to one’s body over long periods of time without the fruits and vegetables that we so desperately need. Optimum health can only be accomplished with the right foods. I had a conversation with a lovely woman once from the Boston area. She, of course, is in the health and wellness industry and she stated to me that “food is a drug.” That’s right – how right she is. I love that statement and I told to her that I was going to begin to use it as often as possible. Food is a drug. It can help you or hurt you. The wrong foods can harm you in many, many different ways. The right foods can cure so many different illnesses and diseases and just, quite frankly, make you feel fabulous.
Well, what do you think I will do as soon as I end this blog? I have the biggest blender you’d ever want to see, so I will throw as many fruits into it as possible. After I consume as much of that shake as I possibly can, after a few hours of course, I will use my big old juicer and make myself a concoction of spinach, kale, beets, and apples and then consume as much of that as I possibly can. Yes, I’m looking for that glowy complexion. Hopefully, it will not take too long and yes, I’m feeling as spunky as ever with just one day on the right foods.
Have a fantastic, healthy day!
